One week ago, @BlggngThSbrbs had just a little over 400 followers on Twitter in its 18 months of existence. This was approximately 27,631,402 less than Lady Gaga. One week later, over 600 more folks clicked “Follow” and our Twitter boom was born.
How did this happen, you ask? How could we become so popular so fast? Simple . . . crack the code.
First, a set of rules were established:
Rules for @BlggngTheSbrbs
1.) Do not haphazardly click on 1,000s of random folks, hoping a few will follow you back.
2.) Do not hashtag #teamfollowback or retweet Follow Back posts. It looks desperate and unattractive.
3.) Be respectful by following those that follow you.
4.) Make sure that at least 75% of our tweets are retweets from news sources, conversations with readers, and replies to others.
5.) Follow everyone who follows our fake Twitter Account @QuotesOnWalls.
Rules for @QuotesOnWalls
1.) Haphazardly follow 1,000 of random folks, especially those with hashtags #teamfollowback
2.) Change your profile to read #TeamFollowBack.
3.) Unfollow people who do not follow you within 2 hours.
4.) Post nothing of meaning or substance.
5.) Follow all your new followers, regardless of language they speak, amount of silly icons in their name, or attitudes towards cats.
Then the game is simple. Go back to the @BlggngThSbrbs account. Follow those and only those who follow @QuotesOnWalls. They’ll follow back.
